Basic Introduction to Molding Machines

1. Safety Warning;

This molding machine is a safe and reliable piece of equipment. Our company cannot anticipate errors or accidents that may arise from improper operation or unexplained usage. Therefore, if any special operating procedures are not outlined in this manual, please consult our company first to determine whether such use is permissible.
Before each work session, check the guide rails for foreign objects; they should be kept clean and lubricated with oil. While the molding machine is running, do not touch any moving parts; avoid wearing loose-fitting clothing or jewelry to prevent scratches and potential injury.
When removing the casing to troubleshoot mechanical faults, be sure to disconnect the power supply.
This instrument must be properly grounded to ensure the operator’s safety.
When operating the instrument, ensure that the support feet are fully grounded.
In the event of any abnormal situation, please immediately cut off the power and contact our company without delay.

This manual contains important safety instructions for using this instrument, essential safety warnings, basic parameter settings, frequently asked questions, and a complete operating procedure.

The precautions for labeling must be observed to ensure proper instrument operation.

3. Rated Power Supply Output:

This instrument operates on a three-phase four-wire system with a power rating of 3 kW, where the black wire serves as the neutral line.

4. Introduction:

This molding machine is manufactured by our company using advanced international technology, and it has seen significant improvements over comparable instruments in terms of operational safety, ease of use, instrument durability, noise control, heat dissipation, and energy management.
The wheel width of this rutting tester is 300 mm, and the compaction line load is 300 N/cm.
In terms of instrument safety, the instrument control box is equipped with an emergency switch; when an emergency occurs, toggling this switch will immediately halt all ongoing operations.
The technical standards for this equipment comply with the industry standard of the People’s Republic of China: JTG 3410—2025.

5. Key Technical Specifications

Compaction line load control range: 200–400 N/cm (factory default setting: 300 N/cm).
Compaction line load control accuracy: ±5 N/cm.
Temperature control range: 50 ~ 200 ℃ (factory default setting: 100℃)
Temperature control accuracy: ±5 ℃.

6. Components and Accessories:

Power switch: Located on the left side of the control box.
Temperature controller: Used to control temperature.
Counter: Used to control the number of times the vehicle moves.
Oil pump start/stop knob: Controls the operation of the oil pump.
Roller Lift Up/Down Buttons: Control the roller’s lifting and lowering.

7. Unpacking and Inspection:

Upon receiving the instrument, it should be accompanied by a complete factory certificate and relevant documentation.
Check whether the following accessories are included:

Check that the above components are intact; if any damage is found, contact the carrier and manufacturer immediately!

Start operation

1. Unpacking and Installation:

Remove all shipping restraints and take the equipment off the wooden pallet.
Note: The instrument is relatively heavy; be extremely careful when disassembling or reassembling it to avoid personal injury or damage to the equipment.
The product shipping cartons must be properly stored for future transportation use.
Move the device to a fixed location, ensuring that the instrument is stable and essentially level.
The equipment should not be placed directly against the wall; sufficient maintenance space must be left.

2. Control Unit:

Connect the power supply properly. Confirm that the power supply is three-phase four-wire, with the black wire serving as the neutral line. After connection, use a meter to verify that the installation is correct.

3. Power On:

Turn the emergency stop rotary knob to the right to power on the unit; at this point, both the temperature controller and the counter will display readings. Rotate the oil pump on/off knob to the right to energize the oil pump, then turn the roller plate lift/lower knob— the roller plate should be able to move freely up and down. Press the trolley travel button, and the trolley will move freely back and forth.

4. Settings:

To set the temperature, press the left arrow button on the temperature controller; the decimal point will start flashing in the SV field. Press the up or down arrow keys to adjust the digit corresponding to the flashing decimal point. The PV field displays the measured value. The temperature will automatically begin to heat up.
To set the number of steps, press the left arrow button on the counter. Press the up or down arrow buttons to adjust the corresponding digit; once you’ve made your selection, wait a few seconds for the setting to be saved automatically. The rightmost button is the reset button.

Experiment begins

1. Specimen Placement

After the temperature stabilizes, install the test specimen and secure it tightly.
Note: When placing the test mold, the cart must be positioned in the middle of its travel range; otherwise, it should be adjusted.

2. Adjust the temperature

If the temperature isn’t quite accurate, you can adjust the temperature sensor up or down.
Note: Do not apply excessive force when tightening.

3. Start the experiment

Start the oil pump, lower the roller to the descending position, reset the counter to zero, and press the trolley start button to begin operation. The experiment is now underway.

4. Experiment completed

After the experiment ends, the cart automatically stops; once the roller is raised to the top position, it shuts down, and the oil pump also stops.

5. Remove the specimen

Pull the specimen out smoothly, clean up the newspaper and compacted debris around the specimen, and use a rammer to gently tap down any uneven areas as needed.

6. Clean up

After the test specimen is removed, clean the trolley guide rail thoroughly and apply lubricant.

Testing and Debugging

1. Load Adjustment

After using the molding machine for a period of time, pressure calibration is required to ensure the accuracy of the experiments.

Service

The molding machine requires only minimal maintenance. To reduce damage to moving parts, it is essential to perform regular cleaning and lubrication—especially cleaning and lubricating the guide rails.
